In March 2023, our guest speaker was Julian Collins. He has been featured in multiple publications including “Sew News” and “Sewn Magazine”.   Julian is a BERNINA and Laurastar Ambassador.  Julian launched the BERNINA L860 Serger.  He sews for fun and loves the enjoyment of the garment.   Julian also creates for KnowMe Patterns by Mimi G.  He loves to create bright colors in men’s wear.  You can get his patterns at Joann’s.

When Julian was a small child, he loved the Cinderella movie watching the animals make Cinderella’s dress. His family sewed so he started to make clothes for himself.  Julian has out numbered many of us by the number of sewing machines he owns.  He has 50 sewing machines. Yes, 50.  Of the 50, 10 are BERNINA’s from 1950 to 2021. He is definitely a sewer at heart.

Our Chapter enjoyed his talk so much we brought him back in 2024 to teach us lessons on the serger.
